The JCC of Greater New Haven is excited to present the Second Annual Beckerman Jewish Film Series April 2-May 11, 2017: a diverse collection of Jewish and Israeli films to be shown in the Greater New Haven area, including Westville, Hamden, Branford, Seymour, Woodbridge, West Haven, Madison, and New Haven. The films selected explore a variety of comedic, dramatic, historical, and modern themes, both classics and new releases. Partnering with the JCC is an array of community organizations across the region: Historic Lyric Hall, Yale University’s Department of Judaic Studies, Congregation Mishkan Israel (Hamden), Guilford Library, The Jewish Federation’s Shoreline and Women’s Philanthropy departments, Woodbridge Town Library, Tower One Tower East, the Jewish Federation’s Young Israeli Emissaries, Madison Art Cinemas, and Hadassah chapters from the Shoreline and Wepawaug Valley. Support for the film series comes from the Beckerman Family Foundation, the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, and CT Humanities.

 

Tickets will be available at the door for each event. However, RSVP-ing will guarantee your seat.

    Artists Rick and Laura Brown embark on a 10-year pursuit to reconstruct the elaborate roof and painted ceiling of the Gwoździec synagogue in Poland. Leading 300+ volunteers from 16 countries, the Browns grapple with the World War II Nazi-era destruction.
